DNS architecture and operation

Abstract

DNS (Domain Name System) is a domain name system that associates domain names with the IP addresses of computers corresponding to these domains. This system includes both regulatory documents and a variety of DNS servers operating on the Internet and reporting IP addresses in response to a request for domain names. The basis of DNS is the idea of the hierarchical structure of a domain name and zones. Each server responsible for the name can delegate responsibility for the further part of the domain to another server.
